Our Story

Born from a love of light and slow mornings

Solstice opened in 2019 on a long Frogner summer evening — the longest day of the year. Founders Mia and Tobias wanted a place that felt like that: luminous, unhurried, warm. A café that respects both the bean and the person drinking it.

We work directly with farms in Ethiopia, Colombia, and Guatemala, paying above Fair Trade prices. Our pastries are made fresh each morning by our in-house baker. And we never rush anyone out the door.

Quality
Every bean traced to its farm. Every cup made with time and precision.
Community
Our café belongs to the neighbourhood. We host, welcome, and connect.
Craft
Our team trains for months before serving a single cup. Mastery matters.

What people say

Loved by Oslo

The best flat white I've had outside of Melbourne. The light in this place on a Sunday morning is something else entirely.

Regular since 2020

We hosted a small birthday brunch here and the team was extraordinary. The rhubarb cake needs to be on the permanent menu.

I come here every morning before work. I've tried every café in Oslo. Solstice is the one — the pour over alone is worth crossing the city for.
